WHY I CREATED THIS WEBSITE
There Is More to Chengdu than the Places You See on Every Travel List.
The idea for China Nooks started with a simple Google search. I wanted to see how travelers from outside China were discovering Chengdu, and I was surprised by how little English information I could find beyond the usual attractions and restaurant lists.
Most of what I share here comes naturally from daily life: places where I like to eat, neighborhoods I enjoy walking through and small discoveries I want to pass along.
China is a big country, and there is so much I would love to share. For now, I’m beginning close to home, with Chengdu, the city I know best. I hope to slowly add more cities as I get to know them in my own way.
To me, Chengdu is more than pandas and hot pot. It is a quiet morning in a teahouse, a favorite restaurant tucked away on a side street, leafy neighborhoods and the small moments you notice when you give the city a little more time.
